Transversal courses, geared mainly towards the socio-economic world, enable doctoral students to prepare for their professional integration.

University of Bordeaux training courses
Complementary courses, coordinated and offered by the College of Doctoral Studies, are open to all doctoral students enrolled at the University of Bordeaux.
These courses give students the opportunity to gain an interdisciplinary approach to science and the environment, to improve their understanding of the socio-economic world, and prepare their integration into the professional integrationworld.

Foreign language courses
- Scientific English (written and spoken English) organized by the Physics and Engineering Doctoral School
Duration of each course: 20 hours (2 hours per week)
The number of places is limited to 20 people (20 for written English and 20 for spoken English).
Doctoral students are informed directly by e-mail when registration is open.
Pre-registration is done directly, by e-mail, with the Doctoral School secretariat.
- French as a foreign language
Duration of courses: 24 hours (2 hours per week)
These courses are for international doctoral students only.

Other training courses
The training courses listed above are by no means exhaustive. Doctoral students from the Physics and Engineering Doctoral School are able to follow any other transversal or vocational training course, after validation by the Director of the Doctoral School, when suggested by the student and the thesis supervisor.
